Norfolk Island

Norfolk Island may be merely a dot in the vast South Pacific Ocean, but it features a large and colourful history. The island’s unique language – a curious mix of English and Tahitian – owes its origin to the descendants of Bounty mutineers from Pitcairn Island, who arrived on the island in 1856 following the end of its incarnation as a British penal colony.
The culture and heritage that abounds from that time is still clear, with the capital, Kingston, home to an array of museums housing significant artefacts and archaeological finds. Many return from Norfolk with a love of the local people, who love nothing more than sharing their homes and way of life with visitors from the mainland.

Norfolk Island is also renowned for its beauty, with sparkling seas and a picturesque landscape offering all manner of recreational activities, from hiking to fishing and everything in between. Head out on a glass bottom boat or enjoy a gourmet afternoon tea in a park-like setting, the choice is yours.

A South Pacific paradise also boasting tropical waters and lush national parks, Norfolk Island is a wonder you’ll wish you’d journeyed to years ago.

February 2021 First Group Tour in Norfolk Island

We are pleased to share these exciting images of our first Scenic tour group since 2019 discovering beautiful Norfolk Island. Our Scenic Tour Director Lillian was thrilled to share the wonders of her island home with our valued guests once again during the 8 day Historic Norfolk Island land journey.
“It is so good to again be showcasing Norfolk Island to Scenic guests, enjoying their company and seeing them so appreciative of being in the moment. There is security felt travelling with a group and having a tour director to sort everything out. Our lovely loyal guests sing Scenic praises and say it is the only way to travel – feeling safe and everything taken care of.”
