28 Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1 - Giza (Cairo)

    Your journey into wonder begins at Giza with a three night Special Stay with views of the Great Pyramids from your balcony. Please book flights to arrive into Cairo by 2pm.

  2. Day 2 - Giza

    Be awed by the sheer magnitude of the pyramids and visit the Solar Boat Museum housing the restored cedar wood barge dating back to 2500BC before marvelling at the 20 metre limestone monolith of the Sphinx. Visit the ancient site of Saqqara in the afternoon. At dusk, prepare for an exclusive night of historical discoveries as the doors of the new Grand Museum open just for you, long after they have closed to the general public.

  3. Day 3 - Giza

    Visit the site of one of World War II’s defining battles, El Alamein.

  4. Day 4 - Giza > Aswan

    Fly to Aswan where you will be ensconced in luxury during your two night Special Stay and admire the views over the Nile from the comfort of your balcony. Discover the history of the hotel and follow in the footsteps of icons like Princess Diana, Winston Churchill and Agatha Christie as you enjoy pre dinner drinks at The Terrace, before dining at restaurant 1902.

  5. Day 5 - Aswan

    Visit a Nubian village or the beautiful but often-overlooked Kalabsha Temple on the shores of Lake Nasser. Alternatively, take a motorboat ride to the upper reaches of the Nile.

  6. Day 6 - Aswan > Nile Cruise

    Fly early to Abu Simbel and visit one of Egypt’s most magnificent monuments, the enormous World Heritage-listed temples of Ramses II and his wife Nefertari, rescued from the rising waters of the Aswan Dam. Embark on your luxurious private charter on board the boutique Sanctuary Sun Boat III as you settle into your elegantly appointed cabin. Discover the granite quarries of ancient Egypt, learn about ancient carving techniques and see the enormous unfinished obelisk. Later, enjoy a traditional felucca cruise on the Nile.

  7. Day 7 - Nile Cruise

    Discover the Osiris temple complex of Philae, then follow the course of the ancient pharaohs’ processions along the Nile as you cruise north. Explore Kom Ombo Temple, perched high on the east bank. A fun night awaits on board with a colourful Galabeyya party with Egyptian delicacies, music and dancing.

  8. Day 8 - Nile Cruise

    Cross to the West Bank of the Nile and admire the colourful hieroglyphics adorning the tombs in the Valley of the Kings. See the impressive monument to Queen Hatshepsut and the well-preserved temple of Ramses III. At the vast temple complex of Karnak, marvel at the enormous pillars as you walk through the impressive Hypostyle Hall.

  9. Day 9 - Nile Cruise

    Travel to the temple complex of Dendera to admire the vibrant colours of the hieroglyphics adorning the roof of Hathor’s Temple. Disembark and join a walking tour through the local produce markets. Discover the fascinating antiquities housed in the Luxor Museum followed by the treasures of Luxor Temple. Tonight join the Captain and crew for a farewell Gala Dinner.

  10. Day 10 - Luxor > Red Sea

    Optional Hot Air Balloon Flight - Choose to add an optional hot air balloon flight (additional cost, please book on tour.)

    Disembark and take a drive through the desert landscape to reach your luxurious resort, set on the shores of the Red Sea, for a two night Special Stay.

  11. Day 11 - Red Sea

    Relax and enjoy a day at leisure on the sparkling shores of the Red Sea. Your resort features a daily activity program or you can just relax by the pool or beach.

  12. Day 12 - Red Sea > Cairo

    Fly to Cairo for your two night stay. Discover the priceless antiquities in the Egyptian Museum including the artefacts recovered from Tutankhamun’s tomb and a selection of Royal Mummies.

  13. Day 13 - Cairo

    Discover Islamic Cairo and Khan el Khalili Bazaar and explore Old Cairo and the Hanging Temple of Babylon.
    Tonight, join your Tour Director for a farewell to Egypt dinner.

  14. Day 14 - Cairo > Amman

    Fly to Amman, where you’ll enjoy a two night stay. This afternoon, walk through the food and produce markets before a welcome to Jordan dinner of local delicacies.

    Discover the ancient Roman city of Jerash, inhabited since the Bronze Age, and explore the impressive ruins.

  16. Day 16 - Amman > Wadi Rum

    At Madaba, discover the famous mosaic map of the Holy Land and visit the Madaba Institute for Mosaic Art and Restoration. Continue to the dramatic desert landscapes of Wadi Rum where you will feel like you have stepped onto the moon during your Special Stay in the luxurious Martian tents of the Sun Camp.

  17. Day 17 - Wadi Rum > Petra

    Travel in the footsteps of Lawrence of Arabia as you discover Wadi Rum. Explore Lawrence Road and marvel at the vistas of ancient valleys and towering weathered sandstone mountains rising out of the pink and white sands. Continue to the Rose Red City of Petra for your two night stay. An unforgettable sight awaits as you visit the Treasury and chasms lit by candlelight.

  18. Day 18 - Petra

    This magnificent World Heritage-listed city is the legacy of the Nabataeans, who settled in southern Jordan more than 2,000 years ago. The impressive eastern entrance leads through a brilliantly coloured narrow gorge to the imposing Treasury, more than 40 metres high. Designed to impress, the rock-cut facade will take your breath away.

  19. Day 19 - Petra > Dead Sea

    At Bethany Beyond the Jordan, see where Jesus was baptised, then view the memorial to Moses at Mount Nebo. Travel north to your Special Stay resort for the next two nights on the shores of the Dead Sea. Relax and enjoy sweeping views over the Dead Sea and across to Israel from your balcony.

  20. Day 20 - Dead Sea

    Enjoy the facilities of your resort including direct access to the sea. Spoil yourself and allow the staff to lather you in therapeutic mud, or float in the hypersaline waters of the Dead Sea, while reading a book or newspaper.   21. Day 21 - Dead Sea > Muscat

    Fly to Muscat and check in for your three night Special Stay at your iconic hotel, with views of the ocean from your room. This evening, meet your Tour Director and fellow travellers for a welcome to Oman dinner.

  22. Day 22 - Muscat

    Muscat, capital of the Sultanate of Oman has a history dating over 900 years. Set between the Hajar Mountains on one side and the sparkling waters of the Gulf on the other, this important port city has a colourful history with past rulers including the Persians and the Portuguese Empire. Your exploration of this city starts with a visit to the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, built from 300,000 tonnes of Indian sandstone. Marvel at the features including the enormous hand woven prayer carpet, chandeliers and stained glass windows.

    Be welcomed by the owner of the Bait Adam Museum and enjoy traditional Omani coffee with dates, and a tour of his private collection.

  23. Day 23 - Muscat

    Freechoice

    Immerse yourself in this beautiful city and its monuments and discover Muscat in-depth by visiting the Opera House and National Museum before driving along the waterfront Corniche, then finish off at the bustling Muttrah Souq. Alternatively, spot wild dolphins along Muscat’s rugged coast on a fun dolphin-watching cruise.

    Later, see Muscat’s coast through the eyes of ancient seafarers who plied this route for centuries on a traditional Dhow cruise.

  24. Day 24 - Muscat > Wahiba Sands

    Board your 4WD vehicles for your adventure into the vast mass of undulating dunes of Oman. En route, drive past the fishing village of Quriyat to spot flamingos and stop at the Bimah sinkhole, a spectacular limestone crater filled with shimmering blue green water.
    Later, experience the thrills of dune driving and observe the surprisingly wide array of flora and fauna found in the desert sands before visiting a Bedouin home to enjoy a cup of Omani coffee and learn about local life. Arrive at your tented Bedouin camp for the night in time to see the changing colours of the desert during a golden sunset, a photographers’ delight.

  25. Day 25 - Wahiba > Jebel Akhdar

    Escape to cool mountain climes, stopping in Birkat Al Mawz, an uninhibited, abandoned village full of date and banana orchards and old brick houses. Continue on to Jebel Akhdar. Located on the fabled Green Mountain, elevated luxury reveals dramatic canyon views at one of the world’s highest resorts. Your two night Special Stay, offers Omani splendour in the most breathtaking of natural settings.

  26. Day 26 - Nizwa

    Enjoy the stark beauty of the Wahiba Desert from your room, as sunrise over the desert paints the landscape in pastel shades. Enjoy an early breakfast and depart for Nizwa Old Town, a former
    capital of Oman. Immerse yourself in the lively souq and explore the well preserved, World Heritage-listed Bahla Fort – the finest of Oman’s castles – which displays beautiful Omani ceiling paintings and beautifully executed woodcarvings.

  27. Day 27 - Jebel Akhdar > Muscat

    Discover the 400-year-old village of Al Hamra, one of the best preserved old towns in Oman. Stroll past the honey coloured Yemeni-style old mud-brick houses and the lush, green date plantations. Proceed to Misfat Al Abriyeen, before venturing on a fun-filled and adventurous drive crossing Oman’s quaint villages, patchwork terraces and traditional houses laid out against the rocky slopes. Continue to Muscat and return to your hotel for another Special Stay. This evening. join your Tour Director and fellow travellers for a farewell dinner.
