26 Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1 - Windhoek

    Welcome to Namibia and its remote capital Windhoek. Transfer to your hotel – a former castle overlooking the city.

  2. Day 2 - Windhoek > Sossusvlei

    Soar over open savannah to the Namib Desert, where towering orange sand dunes surround a stunning white salt pan known as Sossusvlei. Surprisingly, this desert wilderness is home to a wide variety of animals, including ostrich, zebra and springbok. The Sossusvlei Lodge will be your home for the next
    two nights.

  3. Day 3 - Sossusvlei

    Meet your local guide for an excursion into the dunes and discover how the ancient bushman scratched a living from this barren land. Take the rare opportunity to climb one of the sand dunes (moderate fitness level required) and witness the incredible vistas across the Namib Desert.

  4. Day 4 - Sossusvlei > Swakopmund

    Fly to Swakopmund, Namibia’s premier resort town and settle in for your two night stay at the Strand Hotel Swakopmund.

    Join the bites and brews tour which explores products grown and produced in Swakopmund, or a quad bike tour through the dunes meet the ocean.

  5. Day 5 - Swakopmund

    Begin your day with a cruise looking for seals and dolphins. In the afternoon you will travel by 4x4 to see the Sandwich Harbour area of Namib Naukluft National Park where the dunes meet the ocean.

  6. Day 6 - Swakopmund > Etosha National Park

    Etosha National Park is one of Africa’s most unique game reserves. The waterholes around the Etosha Pan attract vast numbers of big game. Enjoy a two night stay at Etosha Village.

  7. Day 7 - Etosha National Park

    Join your expert game ranger for morning and evening game drives, and enjoy some of Africa’s finest savannah game viewing. Long lines of zebra, giraffe, elephant and springbok wander ancient paths between grasslands and waterholes as predators such as lions, leopards and cheetahs wait
    in the shallow cover.

  8. Day 8 - Etosha National Park > Cape Town

    Fly to Windhoek, connecting to your onward flight to Cape Town for a five night Special Stay.

    Ascend Table Mountain by rotating gondola for wondrous 360 degree views.

  12. Day 12 - Cape Town

    Journey along the Atlantic coastline to Cape Point, stop at the Cape of Good Hope and visit Boulders Beach, home to an African penguin colony.

  13. Day 13 - Cape Town > Oudtshoorn

    Semi-desert scenery awaits en route to Oudtshoorn. Later, discover the underground chambers at the Cango Caves before staying overnight in Oudtshoorn.

  14. Day 14 - Oudtshoorn > Knysna

    Learn about Africa’s largest bird at a local ostrich farm, then head to Knysna on the Garden Route. Enjoy a scenic cruise with expert commentary on the region’s flora and fauna, before staying overnight at your hotel in Knysna.

  15. Day 15 - Port Elizabeth > Durban

    Travel the Garden Route to Port Elizabeth before boarding your flight to Durban. Enjoy a two night Special Stay.

  16. Day 16 - Durban

    Discover the beachside town of Durban, famous for its Indian and colonial influences. This afternoon indulge in a delicious high tea.

  17. Day 17 - Hluhluwe > Ghost Mountain

    The Dolphin Coast region of Natal has a sea of sugarcane fields. Enter Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Park, renowned for its rhino conservation program. Later, begin a two night stay at the foot of Zululand’s legendary Ghost Mountain.

  18. Day 18 - Ghost Mountain > Kingdom of eSwatini

    Arrive in the tiny Kingdom of eSwatini. Journey through the magnificent valleys of Big Bend to your resort, nestled within an idyllic Botanical Garden, for an overnight stay. Enjoy time at leisure to explore the magnificent garden.

  19. Day 19 - Kingdom of eSwatini > Lion Sands Game Reserve (Kruger National Park)

    Kruger National Park stretches an impressive 450 kilometres. Enjoy a two night Special Stay at Lion Sands River Lodge or Lion Sands Kruger Lodge, on a private concession within the park. The Sabie River flows through the park, and is home to the highest recorded concentration of leopards in Africa. Look for the Big Five on a game drive in an open safari vehicle.

    At the end of your afternoon game drive, partake in one of the most enjoyable of safari traditions – Sundowner drinks.

  20. Day 20 - Lion Sands Game Reserve (Kruger National Park)

    Limitless game viewing possibilities await as you traverse Kruger National Park in specially adapted Land Rovers to track the Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo.

  21. Day 21 - Panorama Route > Johannesburg

    Travel the magnificent Panorama Route on the way to Johannesburg. View Blyde River Canyon and later check into your hotel for your two night stay.

  22. Day 22 - Johannesburg

    Enrich

    Explore Soweto with your local guide and visit Nelson Mandela’s house. Learn about 20th century South Africa at your visit to the Apartheid Museum.

  23. Day 23 - Johannesburg > Victoria Falls

    Board your flight to Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. The world’s largest sheet of falling water rises 108 metres high and spans a gorge carved out of a flat plateau. Check into your marvellously colonial hotel for your three night Special Stay.

    Enjoy a special Zambezi River Sundowners cruise and watch the teeming wildlife on the banks, drink in hand.

    Tonight’s outdoor dinner features a display of traditional dancing.

  24. Day 24 - Chobe National Park

    Large concentrations of big game call Chobe National Park home. Embark on a game drive along the shoreline, where predators often come for water. Later, enjoy a cruise on the Chobe River, home to huge herds of elephants and buffalo. Large pods of hippo and giraffe families inhabit the banks and woodlands.

  25. Day 25 - Victoria Falls

    Optional Helicopter Flight - Enjoy an optional helicopter flight over Victoria Falls. See page 95 for details (additional expense, please book on tour).

    Visit a typical Zimbabwean village for insights into traditional tribal life and meet the elephants during your visit to the elephant sanctuary.

    Later, witness the power of Victoria Falls with a tour from the Zimbabwean side of the worlds largest waterfall. Enjoy dinner in the beautiful Livingstone Restaurant.

  26. Day 26 - Victoria Falls

    Farewell new found friends and the magic of Africa. Please book flights to depart after 1:30pm from Victoria Falls airport.

    Days 1-8 are not escorted by a Scenic Tour Director. Flights within Namibia are via light aircraft.
